Vacanze....! Con dei buoni amici partiamo in macchina per una vacanza all'avventura con poche certezze ma tanto buon spirito, in macchina con noi - a parte una scorta di vino da far invidia ad un bar (grazie Vincent) - dello speck e del salame e una buona dose di formaggi.
Holidays! We decided to leave by car for an adventurous trip, with few certainties but lot of good spirit! In our car though, there was plenty of wine (thanks to Vincent), enough to make a barman jealous, and lots of yummy Italian specialties: speck, salami and cheese of course.
Partiamo da Taichung in mattinata e con calma ci dirigiamo alla volta di Qingjing Farm. Essendo capodanno cinese la mancanza di strutture disponibili per la notte ci costringe a dormire un pochino prima di arrivare a Qingjing Farm, una scelta casuale ma molto fortunata!
We left Taichung in the morning heading slowly to Qingjing Farm. Due to Chinese New Year celebrations, the lack of accommodations available propelled us to sleep a bit away from the site. We were looking for something closer but our fate was awesome.
Arriviamo infatti in una guesthouse, molto carina che consiglio vivamente a coloro che viaggiano con un budget ridotto ma con comodità' e pulizia.
So we arrived in a very beautiful and welcoming guesthouse that I strongly recommend to those who track a good balance between their budget, the cleanliness and the comfort of their accommodations.
La vista è davvero spettacolare. Le camere sono pulite e una terrazza a disposizione degli ospiti ci ha permesso di fare un aperitivo che nemmeno in Italia sarebbe stato altrettanto buono! The view is simply stunning. The rooms are clean, but the main highlight is undoubtedly the terrace at disposal of the guests that granted us an outstanding "aperitif" that could rival any of the best ones we had back in Italy.

Dalla Guesthouse potrete inoltre godere della vista sul " Green Lake" o lago di Giada, nome dovuto alle sue acque turchesi racchiuse dalle montagne.
From the guesthouse, you can enjoy the view on the "Green Lake", also called Jade's lake. Such a name is due to its turquoise water emphasized by the surrounding mountains.
Appoggiate le valigie e fatto il check in proseguiamo per la famosa Qingjing Farm. L'entrata costa circa 200 TWD per persona. Personalmente, vuoi per il periodo di alta stagione e la folla di persone all'interno, vuoi che non amo particolarmente i paesaggi "costruiti" per i turisti, non consiglio a tutti la visita, ma piuttosto a famiglie con bambini.
Once the luggage dropped and the check-in sorted, we headed to the famous Qingjing Farm. The entrance fee is around 200 TWD and depends on age and period of visit. I personally felt like - between the fact that it was crowded due to CNY and that the site seems to be a fake touristic attraction - I would not particularly recommend the visit unless you have a family with young children. Vi troverete numerose pecore che pascolano più o meno liberamente, quando non vengono aggredite dai turisti e delle zone dove potrete fare il vostro pic nic o rilassarvi, o qualche dimostrazione di tosatura delle pecore o spettacoli a cavallo...
You will find sheep more or less freely wandering off when they are not harassed by the tourists. There also are areas where you can have your picnic or relax. Between other attractions, you can see sheep being sheared, a show of horses ridden by Mongolian acrobats and so on... All'interno di Qingjing Farn partono diversi sentieri. I sentieri tutti collegati dal nord al sud all'interno della Farm comprendono una serie di praterie e ogni percorso ha le sue caratteristiche. Ad esempio, il percorso Guangshan offre la vista sulle montagne lontane avvolte nella nebbia, i visitatori sono in grado di vedere le pecore passeggiare in liberta' e pascolare sull'erba e avere uno stretto contatto con loro.
Within Qingjing Farm, there are miscellaneous paths. They will all take you from the North to the South throughout meadows. Each of them has its own features. For instance, the path Guangshan will grant you a wide view on the mountains surrounded by the fog. The visitors still can see the sheep freely strolling or grazing and can interact with them.
Il sentiero di Bu-bu-gao-sheng è una buona scelta in autunno quando le foglie rosse degli aceri colorano il paesaggio.
Il parco Shoushan sulla parte superiore del percorso consente inoltre ai visitatori di godere della vista di un tramonto unico, romantico, anche se il tramonto e' spettacolare quasi in ogni angolo!
The Bu-bu-gao-sheng path is a great option during the autumn when the maples' red leaves color the landscape. Shoushan park, in the upper part of this journey, offers the tourists the possibility to enjoy an unforgettable sunset, unique by its romanticism, even though it is anyway spectacular from any spot of the Farm.
Durante la stagione della fioritura dei ciliegi, non perdete ovviamente il "Sakura Trail" o il "Jade Lake Trail", un percorso di 2.300 metri che puo'essere fatto in circa un'oretta.
During the cherry blossom season, do not miss the opportunity to take the "Sakura Trail" or the "Jade Lake Trail", a 2300 meters journey that can be completed in about half an hour.
ll paesaggio in generale è veramente mozzafiato e ne vale la pena specialmente per coloro che vogliono uscire dalla città anche solo per una giornata; ci vuole infatti circa un'ora e mezza di macchina, traffico permettendo. Si può anche arrivare con il bus da Puli, per coloro che non hanno un mezzo a disposizione.
The whole site is absolutely dazzling and it is worth the trip for those who want to get out of the city, also only for one day. An hour and a half driving from Taichung is enough if the traffic is smooth.
You can also reach the place by bus from Puli if you do not have any transportation at your disposal.
Poco prima di arrivare a Cinjing Farm troverete anche "Small Swiss Garden", meglio conosciuta con il nome di “Taiwan’s Little Switzerland”... Per essere piccola e' piccola veramente, ma in realta' la cosa spettacolare e' tutta intorno alla zona.
On the road to Cinjing Farm, slightly before the site, you will also find "Small Swiss Garden", better known under the name of "Taiwan's Little Switzerland"... Small is the right word to describe it since it is a small area, but the most spectacular spot of this entire zone.
Infatti, numerose casette in stile Europeo, per lo piu' coloniale circondano tutta la zona. Non sembra nemmeno di essere in Asia ma in qualche prateria austriaca o nella campagna inglese!
Indeed, several European styled houses, sometimes in colonial style, stand right there. You will not feel like being in Asia but rather in the Austrian countryside or crossing through a British styled manor...
Se vi fermate per la notte vi suggerisco la cena al ristorante Hao Ji Puo, veramente carino e con ottimo cibo locale!
